ÖZLEM BULUT BAND

Özlem Bulut stands for new and energetic mixture of oriental styles with elements of jazz and pop music. All music is written originally for this projekt. Topics are choosen carefully, such as childhood, relations and personal experiences.Özlem was born in eastern Anatolia and grew up with traditional anatolian music. She later on continued with classic vocal studies that led her to Vienna, Austria. With austrian composer and pianist Marco Annau, Özlem found a genuine partner to bring her visions of actual oriental music to live. Catchy chorus lines and vital oriental rhythms are enriched by profound improvisations. The continious rising demand of this projekt seems to acknolegde their concept. It is time to reframe the conventional picture of oriental music. _MG_7882

LIMINAL ZONE BY ULRICH DRECHSLER

„CARAMEL“ – THE ESSENCE OF THE MANY IDEAS COLLECTED OVER THE YEARS THAT INSPIRE ME EVERY DAY. THAT‘S MY UNDERSTANDING OF JAZZ. I STUDIED JAZZ, LISTENED TO THE RECORDS OF THE BIG ROLE MODELS, PRACTICED ALL THE STYLISTIC ARCHETYPES LIKE BEBOP, HARDBOP, SOULJAZZ OR FUSION. AND YET … ALWAYS SOMETHING WAS MISSING. WITHOUT REALIZING IT, I LEARNED A LANGUAGE THAT I INSTINCTIVELY KNEW I WOULD NEVER REALLY SPEAK. IT TOOK MORE THAN TEN YEARS TO UNDERSTAND THAT JAZZ ALONE WAS NOT ENOUGH FOR ME. AND SO I STARTED LOOKING FOR NEW SOURCES OF INSPIRATION, CHANGING MY WAY OF PRACTICING, COMPOSING, AND LISTENING TO MUSIC IN ORDER TO FINALLY REDEFINE MY FOCUS ON MUSIC IN TWO VERY SIMPLE WAYS – SOUND AND EMOTION. MY IDEA OF MUSIC
